Here are Inside Bainbridge recommendations for the weekend of July 13-15, 2012:
1. 24th Annual Bainbridge in Bloom Tour
When: Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: The Bloom hub is at Woodward Middle School, 9154 Sportsman Club Road.
Why: Given today’s weather and tomorrow’s predicted weather, I am calling it Bainbridge in Boom. But the thunderstorms can’t continue all weekend long. (They can’t, right?) And think how pretty the gardens are going to look with raindrops on petals. Read more here.
2. Intrapreneurship with Gifford Pinchot III
When: Friday, 5:30-7 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art Auditorium, 100 Ravine Lane
Why: Gifford Pinchot III happens to be the Co-Founder and President of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute. And he is possibly the world’s leading expert on intrapreneurship. He should be: He and his wife coined the term. Come hear him explain what it means and why it matters.
Tickets are $10 and unless sold out will be available at the door. A free wine reception follows the lecture. Sign up online at BainbridgeChamber.com.
3. Bainbridge Island Photo Club
When: Saturday, 7-9 p.m.
Where: The Commons, 370 Brien Drive SE
Why: The topic for this meeting is one of my favorites, black and white or monochrome photography. Think Dorothea Lange, Henri Cartier Bresson, Andreas Feininger, Gordon Parks. Visitors and interested photographers are welcome.
For info. call 780-5926 or visit biphotoclub.org.
4. Dragonflies: Bugs for Birders
When: Sunday, 1-4 p.m.

5. Virginia V Around the Island Cruise
When: Sunday, 3-6 p.m.
